This fall Prior, the Whistler-based producer of handcrafted, high-performance skis and snowboards, held a competition with the  Whistler Arts Council for local artists to design topsheets for the company’s 2013/2014 line of skis and boards. Kris Kupsky was super stoked to hear the news that his design was chosen as one of the winning topsheets and even more stoked to hear he earned the most votes from the public.

Prior showcased 22 images at the Scotia Creek Gallery in Millennium Place from October 5-21 where the public had the opportunity to cast votes towards their favourite designs.

FOCUS – words by Kris Kupsky
This group of allies circles the west coast mountain range, ALL in good company, four heads in FOCUS, stacked on top of one another as the seasons change. Cool colours filter in from the right indicating a newly revealed moon, the clear night sky and the mountain glow reflecting off an early season snowfall. The left side silently relinquishes the last few days of the warm Indian summer as conflicting edge lit temperatures outline the animal faces, harmonizing in the middle to maintain a balance.
