I’m going to keep this introduction short and sweet. I was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, and I’ve been moving around and travelling ever since. Having said that, Whistler has been my home base since 2001. When people ask me what I like taking photos of, I always find it a hard question to answer. It’s because I like taking photos of anything, at any given time: I like colour; I like texture; I like people; it’s whatever catches my eye. With so many interesting colours and shapes in this world, I make sure to take my camera(s) with me at all times–that way I can document all of the amazing places I go to, and see how I perceived them at that moment in time.

“It’s about reacting to what you see, hopefully without preconception.  You can find pictures anywhere.  Its simply a matter of noticing things and organizing them.” ~ Elliot Erwitt

The Photos
01 “You gotta eat a breakfast, Margie”
02 I’m continually inspired by all types of images that I see on a daily basis.  These are some of my favorite books and magazines.
03 Camping at Levette Lake this summer.
04 Riding bikes with my friends makes me happy.
05 Spending time in the backcountry with my friends also makes me happy.
06 I try to go back to Scotland and visit my relatives as much as possible.
07 I’ve been known to take photos of vans from time to time.
08 This is my Olympus XA 35mm f2.8 rangefinder.  It was made in 1979 and it’s still going strong.

The Questions
What neighborhood do you live in?
Brio.

What do you do and where?
I spend as much time outside as possible.  At night you can find me slangin’ sushi at a local eatery.

What are you working on?
I’m working on not counting the days.  Instead I’m making the days count. – I have some portrait shoots coming up.  I’m also starting to make my own picture frames from reclaimed wood.

Where can we find your work?
