T.A.G. – Hi Artables.
This is my entry for the Prior top sheet contest.
October, October, where is your snow?
Hi artables.
Winter may not be here yet in the form of snow but everything points in that direction. Heck, even if we didn’t get snow, we would make it. The same is to be said about the art happenings now. You can not see it but we are getting closer to the much anticipated day.
I have spoken recently of some of the upcoming art shows happening in the next couple of months, but what I haven’t mentioned was the big show. When the mountains open for business. This year the mountains are set to open on November 22nd. That means there are literally 48 days till zoom time!! The countdown has begun!
Yipppeeee! That is with or without snow, hopefully the latter. haha. One never knows. Just pray to Ullr and let’s hope those pineapples are good to us this year!
Art, art, art, love it. Gotta do lots today! Otherwise the deadlines will come and go and that’s not good.
Thinking about the list of events is exciting!!!
I may not be in the new Pecha Kucha this time but hey, doesn’t mean I can’t pump the event, right? Well, that’s what I am supposed to do. So I will. Aki, not my wife but Aki Kaltenbach the force behind Pecha Kucha, will bring around another host of orators to the fun filled night. I should specify that not all are orators but some are better than others, hence the backbone to the event, Les Anthony.
Side note. How is he so smart? Ohh yeah, he is a doctor. Maybe of snakes, reptiles and amphibians, but a Doctor no less. He, along with a host of what seems to be a good mixed group, will share stories, adventures and ideas. The whole night is super fun and they sell drinks to go along with the presentations.
There are editors and entrepreneurs, advocates and film makers in this group and….. Les. Yup, this is his seventh Pecha Kucha night. The man can literally write about anything. Last show saw Les talking about the faithful commode for over five minutes!!! Accompained by funny photos. Go Les!! For all the info you need, go to..http://www.pecha-kucha.org/night/whistler/ Did I mention Kirby Brown and Kim Slater? Yeah. Awesome.
I finally must make an art appeal to all Whistler-ites and friends of the art. This may not be fair, but hey, all is fair when your going for best graphic of a ski or snowboard design contest. Friday is the night. Please come and vote for my graphic as I think the poofont board should win!! Pique Article. See you there!
ciao for now,
arne g
