T.A.G. – Hello Artinados & Functionistas!!
A cool new biz card for me. What do you think?
Well to some it might seem like a slow art week but I can tell you that it is nothing short of chaotic in my world. You might not see the writings in the local papers of art flying this week, but let me assure you that the calm is nothing but a facade. Looking at the picture of the next few months seems to have my calendar busier than normal.
You see, artists generally can’t sit still or enjoy a quiet night out. Because, to us, there is little in life that is quiet and calm, it almost always feels like there is a storm brewing, like the approach of the new season. I guess I say this because of the impending shows coming up. To start, the Prior Top Sheet contest/art show coming up is in the can but has yet to be hung. Which is super exciting. As I mentioned last week, they did pick my lovely poofont board to be added to the collection. The show is coming up and I will give you more details when it is on the walls. The box show, The Skate show and….
Last week I spoke of the Halloween Art show that Pepe is presenting at the Whistler Brewery on October 27th. Now I have some more details and some names to go with the blurb. So far, the artists are: Pepe, Hailey Wirsching, Lauren Ritz, Andy Fenwick, Anna Lengstrand and myself so far. He said there will be others added and he is waiting for some of the artists to get back to him.
The show will kick off at 6pm and go to 11pm. There is no theme to this show other than the fact that it is a Halloween show. I asked Pepe if it was a PG show and he said he believes so but, that if something was a tad off the safe mark it would be still included – yeah for me! I always live on the edge. Should be exciting and something to get ready for as so far, I am not sure of anything else down the pipe that I am able to talk about yet for Halloween. Mark your calendar for that night and stay tuned for upcoming info. Thanks Pep!
In other fun arty news.
You know I like to have fun with photography and computers – yes, yes I do. A short time ago I found some QR code generator sites that I enjoyed playing around with. Then, when it was time for me to produce a new biz card I thought I would meld the two to get a unique and interesting card that would take advantage of technology and a biz card. I came up with this graphic as my new front to the card. Simple, effective, different and cool are ways I like to describe the work. Tell me what you think and if you can read it with your funky fones. Enjoy and as always, see yah next week with more arty news from Whistler.
thank you
