T.A.G. – Welcome to the world that is Arne
Sorry officer, it’s just grass.
Hello lovers of all things artistic.
Welcome to the world that is Arne. Sounds egotistical but I can assure you that is not the case. Being an artist requires much time spent absorbing myself and much thought. Trying to harness my creative juices in a way that suites the theme of my particular project. Some might call us introverts or loners but in the case of producing art it is the necessary dictum for completion. I know my wife is not going to help me when I produce my next art show or endeavour, especially anything to do with the lil ol’ Poofont, sorry, shameless plug, hehe.
Regardless of stereotypes, we do spend a fair bit of time lost in our clouded soup of synapses trying to conjure up the next Mona Lisa, Blade Runner or any Rodin sculpture. That being said, we are nothing without our influences and friends. I have written much in previous about “Brainstorming”, “The need of friends”, and a host of topics that require the assistance of friends/compatriots in either the finishing of ideas or helping you through a challenging section of a project.
This piece is about the others. The ones that make up the show; the artists. The reason is that to get a show underway and completed is to have a group of artists that will share your vision and passion. Promising to be a larger part than just their own contribution. This may sound like a very long winded approach of enlisting more artists to your upcoming show Arne? Jeez, you nailed it with a precise hit on the head.
Yes, it’s true. I need a couple of more artists for my upcoming show in November. Once again the concept is simple. To have varied artists of all mediums produce a piece that is on a wooden wine box and that fits the theme, “Issue”. If you feel that you are able to come up with something within the time frame and you are going to have a piece that has much wow factor, may I ask you to consider being a part of an excellent upcoming show. The deadline is November 1st. The location once again will be the main gallery of Millennium Place, Whistler. I need a couple of more artists to feel the space.
If you don’t want to be a part of the show you can still take part in the opening event which I am sure will be a “blowout night” as usual. Thank you and contact me here.
A bit of un-art news that involves some local artists. This weekend is the B.C Provincial Disc Golf Competition Championships. The reason I mention this is that three of the competitors vying for greatness on the disc golf course will also be in my upcoming show!! Please help me wish Bruce Rowles, Jon Parris and Les Anthony all the best as the shoot for ringers this weekend. http://www.whistlerdiscgolf.com/provincials-2012/ ps good luck boys!!
