T.A.G. – To The Point
This is a custom QR Code that I made for my …………. hehe.
Hello fans of art and Whistler!
Well it seems like it is time to write about another art show!! Yup, go figure. You think thats what I do, so, I am going to do it. It also seems that I talk about a particular person quite a bit. That would be correct if his name is Stephen Vogler. I write many posts about him and I have from the beginning of my writing for WIA. It’s not hard considering how involved he is in the arts community. Not only is he a talented and accomplished musician but also a talented and accomplished writer! Did I mention a playwright as well? No, whew, good, I can expound on that aspect of him later. You see, many people know him from his musical performances around town for the last ….. number of years and also from his second book, Top of the Pass. btw, his first book was a compilation of 16 feature stories adorned with the art of Hugh Kearny and Christina Nick, the book is Whistler Features. It is out of print but available as a PDF on Stephens website soon. www.stephenvogler.com
For this show Stephen has included many wonderful art forms, a group art show, (which I am in btw, the theme and title is, Tracks.) children’s music and performances, improv theatre on a floating stage, a lantern boat procession, a jazz band, another theatre performance by Aude Ray and……. Stephen’s play Agne’s. Which takes place in 1929 Alta Lake setting and San Fransico. Many local’s are involved inlcuding Whistler’s own, Angie Nolan. The night is filled with many other delights that will tickle many people’s fancy I am sure. I will be there soon as I finish work.
For me, the highlight will be taking part in his Tracks art show, though I am sure to enjoy many other features of the night. I am looking forward to the eve and hoping to see you there! Again, tickets and info can be sourced from www.thepointartists.com
Just a little more info on the Tracks show, which is a theme up my alley. Stephen has said that the pieces included will have something to do with tracks, whether they are animal or human based. In my case, I have chosen to showcase the idea of tracks coming from a post consumer mentality. Garbage maybe, tracks never the less. You will just have to see it as I do not want to spoil the surprise. hehe. It is super cool and super gross, hmmm, bet you can’t wait huh?
See you there Saturday night!!
