Get Crafty This Summer at the Whistler Museum!
The Whistler Museum and Archives Society looks forward to a summer full of family fun! We would like to welcome the Whistler Sailing Association, Isobel MacLaurin, and Michael Allen to the Whistler Museum as they guide our activities and share with us their knowledge of all aspects of Whistler’s culture and history.
July 21st – Postcards of Whistler
How do you communicate with home while on vacation? With postcards, of course. Learn about Whistler’s pioneer postmistress and make your own unique postcard to carry on the tradition of sending Whistler memories to your loved ones!
July 28th – Sailboat Building with the Whistler Sailing Association
Come to the Museum to learn about sailing in Whistler from the very people who sail on our lakes. Then design your very own sailboat and watch it float!
August 4th – Sketching and Watercolouring with Isobel MacLaurin
It’s time to bust out the brushes and pencils for a fun sketching and watercolour painting class with renowned Whistler artist Isobel MacLaurin!
(Note: Registration required – limited to 12 eager young artists)
August 11th – Bear Paw T-Shirt Printing with Michael Allen
Come for a bear talk from Michael Allen and print your own real bear paw t-shirt! Register in advance and the Museum will provide a t-shirt for you. If you are unable to register in advance, just bring your own white t-shirt to print on and we will supply everything else.
Every craft activity is a great addition to your visit to the Whistler Museum, perfectly complementing our exhibits. Fun and interactive activities will have your child curious and eager to learn more. Activity included with admission.
