Join the Whistler Arts Council for the Opening Reception Celebration for ArtWalk! Thursday, July 5, 6:30-9pm

ArtWalk is a celebration of arts in Whistler for art lovers, community and visitors. Over 40 host venues open their doors to introduce their new exhibitions and artists throughout the summer months. With live entertainment throughout the village stroll, special offers at various participating businesses, and ArtWalk hot spots presenting a selection of Bearfoot wine and Whistler Brewing, ArtWalk opening reception makes for a great night out on the town.

Join the Ladies in Red for a free guided tour or  pick up a copy of the evening program guide and follow the Little Red Flags on a self-guided tour. The evening is filled with live entertainment, engaging roving characters, children’s activities and an array of artist demonstrations including live carving, pottery, wheel and fibre art demonstrations, plus more. Maps and guides are available at participating venues, Millennium Place and the Whistler Visitor Information Centre or by calling 604.935.8410.

The village wide opening reception has something for everyone including; live musical entertainment with Big Mountain Rhythm, Jon Burr and Dr. Dave, live art demonstrations by Lani Imre, Lauren Ritz, Kris Kupskay, Kathleen Tennock and carving by Wade Baker. Dancers and roving characters, guided tours, face painting, balloon twisting and children’s crafts line the village stroll. Don’t miss out on any of the art and special offers, make sure to get your copy of the evening program guide and meet at the Fire Rock Lounge in the Westin at 8:30pm to watch fire spinners in action (program guides are available at ArtWalk locations and at Millennium Place).
