The TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival is not only stellar for free music concerts, awesome arts events and raging parties, but, surprisingly enough, world-class Skiing and Snowboarding!

TWSSF, Telus, Telus Fest, Jess Smith, Miss Whis, Monster Energy, TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival

The delicious and dynamic Monster Energy crew is back on board as sponsors of the snowboarding component, named The Shred Show, from April 13-17. A newly named 5 star event on the TTR World Snowboard Tour, The Shred Show features the who’s who of snowboarding, and four events that will leave you breathless. Hand in hand with Skiing and Snowboarding are the after-parties, so I’ve listed the pick of the bunch for you to satiate your thirst after slaying the mountain (as a competitor or spectator, both as worthy as the other).

April 14 | Big Hip (invitational): 7pm
April 15 | Borderstyle: 10am – 3pm
April 16 | Slopestyle (invitational): 10am – 3pm
April 17 | Mogul Duel: 12pm – 3pm

April 13:

Rider Registration

Metal Night with Alcoholica and Vinyl Ritchie at the GLC

BIG HIP [Invitational - TTR World Snowboard Tour 5 star event]
April 14 | Skiers Plaza Whistler Village: 7pm
The most energy, the biggest crowds. Party in Skier’s Plaza as the riders throwdown on a huge hip in a 2 round elimination and superfinal format. Trouble Andrew rocks the stage right after.

Swollen Members: 6pm Mainstage

Trouble Andrew: 9.45pm Mainstage

Yelawolf with Mat the Alien and Friends at the GLC

BOARDERSTYLE
April 15 | Blackcomb Terrain Park: 10am – 3pm
Boarderstyle combines speed, freestyle and a boardercross course with crazy. 4 riders head to head in an event that’s sure to get the heart pumping.

Pub Night at Black’s Pub with DJ Ernold Sane

SLOPESTYLE [Invitational - TTR World Snowboard Tour event]
April 16 | Blackcomb Terrain Park: 10am – 3pm
The inclusion of Slopestyle into the Olympic Games has helped a resurgence of the discipline back into snowboard competition, and Blackcomb’s terrain park is the location of this varied and challenging competition, with another $25,000 up for grabs.

MOGUL DUEL
April 17 | Blackcomb Glacier Creek Lodge: 12pm – 3pm
The legendary Mogul Duel returns for another year.  The course is located on the Davies Dervish run just above the Glacier Creek restaurant on Blackcomb Mountain. The races will be run in a head to head, two hour jam format with two athletes running the course at the same time. Bumps are obligatory, jumps mandatory; this is going to be one mental event.

Dub Night at Maxx Fish with Downlink, Mat the Alien and Guests

TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival presents the Association of Freeskiing Professionals (AFP) World Championship featuring the open Slopestyle, the invitational Big Air and the invitational Superpipe.

April 19 | Slopestyle Qualifiers
April 20 | Slopestyle Finals
April 21 | Big Air
April 22 | Superpipe

Slopestyle | April 19 (Qualifiers) and April 20 (Finals): 10.45am – 3pm

Slopestyle, now included in the Olympics, is a fully integrated discipline with jumps, rails, boxes, hits, and requires speed, style, steeze, height and finesse. Can these skiers do the impossible and nail all aspects? Held at the Black Park on Blackcomb, this is an event not to miss.

WAG Fundraiser at the Longhorn Saloon with ‘Special Guests’. Tickets are $20 and I HIGHLY recommend getting one, because those ‘Special Guests’ are absolutely worth it.. ;) *insiders tip*

TWSSF, Telus, Telus Fest, Jess Smith, Miss Whis, Monster Energy, TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival

Big Air | April 21: 7pm

The Big Air jump, located at the base of Whistler Mountain, is the ultimate in ski-voyeurism. Not for the faint of heart, this jump will shock, amaze and intimidate, and that’s just the spectators! Immerse yourself in the electric atmosphere of Skier’s Plaza, and watch the mind-boggling aerial talents of the who’s who of the ski world throw down in one of the most impressive displays of raw talent and gutsy trick-wrangling in an attempt to walk away with the coveted title of Big Air Champion, a brand new Chevrolet Sonic courtesy of sponsor Chevrolet.

The END Party: Featuring Felix Da Housecat, Longwalkshortdock, DJ Praiz and Grandtheft. Tickets are $35 and this rager goes until 4am. Be there.

Superpipe | April 22: 10.15am – 3.30pm

Combining passion, prowess, positivity and pure attitude, the Superpipe lays it on the line for committed and confident skiers to take home a huge prize purse and priceless bragging rights. Diesel fragrance ‘Only The Brave’ is offering $2000 to the bravest skier in the Superhit competition – Located at Blackcomb Pipe

The Sheepdogs play at Buffalo Bills. For free! Get there early, and you’re guaranteed they’ll rock your socks off.

Party on, Whistler.
