T.A.G. – Back To The Grind
This is another one of those questions, what the heck is this or was it before I started tweakin? The winner gets…..?
Hello Friends and fans of art and W.I.A.
I hope that includes everyone!!!
Back to the grind and routine of production and the art of the quick tear-down. Big week and many goings on in Whis this week. First, it is a bit of a sad day for me. I must regrettably tear down the “Paper This” show today. Boo-hoo. I know your like “Dude, just do another one.”
Sure, but it is not that easy. This show took much time and effort not only to produce but to advertise, tour and set up and tear down. I also toured the show to four venues. The show was hosted in Van, Squish and twice in Whis. Alas, the end is nigh. Just being funny nostalgic. Don’t worry, I will do another one – bigger and better. Thank you venues and artists. This was one of my best shows!!! It also came down fast because of the hanging method of Scotia Plaza. Awesome. Made my job easy. Thank you Andrea and the gang.
Well, it seems I am also making a debut as a painter Monday night. Cero Worldwide is having their 10th Anniversary at Maxx Fish and you’re welcome to come and be part of the night. There will be many DJ’s, acts, hairdressing live with Sue and art. Lots of art – Andy Fenwick, Chili, myself and Granpa Pepe will be in full force. Come check out the night as it is a fundraiser for Cero Worldwide friends. Entry is $10 but that gets you a drink, woot woot. Ohh, if nothing else, come see what I will create, it should be interesting for you and me.
Eclectic 5 is on the radar! Next Thursday they will be back at their new home, in Doc Branigan’s upstairs lounge. The show starts at 8pm and it is free! Wow, an unusual term in tiny town? Si. One of the great features of Eclectic 5 is that there is such a diversity in the evenings goings on that its pretty easy to spend the whole night checking out all the acts!
This week will be no different. Michele Bush will preform a monologue on the circus and Whis, while local Rob Ebbs and Kostaman will serenade us with some laidback sounds. Come join the fun, the night starts at 8pm but doesn’t run too late. Fun times on Thursday. Ohhhh, did I mention Stephen Vogler might play some music? He probably will, at least we hope so. Haven’t seen his brother preform lately, who knows, maybe he might show up and do a number with Steve? Keep your fingers crossed.
Well things are still getting cemented for the upcoming shows but it is starting to look good. The next Scotia Plaza show is online and dated, May 21! That in case you forgot was the box show with the theme, issue, or exactly what was/is your issue. That will have some super cool results, I hope. I do believe we have the day booked for the Whistler Brewery show, it is just not confirmed, though the topic is in place and that is exciting. The theme is, industrial and what that means to the artist. This should also garner some neat results! That show should be fun because of the proximity to my house and whenever there is a show near my house that is a good thing. Who knows, you might get an invite to the coolest laundry room in Whis or even the Sea to Sky corridor. One never knows what is gonna be on display there, I certainly don’t know. Ahahahaha.
Caio for now Whistler, see you next week.
